Coach Z has served as the Head Coach at East Chapel Hill for three seasons, compiling a record of 51-11 with two appearances in the NCHSLA State 4-A Championships.  The 2006 Wildcats brought home the title.  In his three seasons at East, he has coached several high school All-Americans and All-State players.  Former Wildcat players now play at Ithaca College, Guilford College, and Fairfield University, not to mention a number of highly successful college club programs.  The 2007 Wildcat team featured several Division 1 recruits including All-American Tony Mendes (a University of Maryland signee) and Sepp Stephens who attends McGill University.  The 2008 team features Scot Meyer, who has signed with Duke University and several other college bound players.

Coach Z brings a unique perspective to these camps, as a former college player, college coach, and college official.  He is a 1983 graduate of Guilford College, then the perennial tri-state lacrosse champions.  The Quakers enjoyed victories over Division 1 opponents such as Dartmouth and Duke University.  Coach Z has served as a NCAA official, working all levels of games over the years.  In 2004, he was selected as an official for the National Club Championships in St. Louis.  He also served as a referee on three NCHSLA State Championship games prior to joining the coaching ranks.

Currently, Coach Z is serving as the Head Coach for the Carolina Dirt Daubers, a select U-15 team formed in the Triangle that features players from Orange, Wake, and Durham Counties.  He has coached several indoor teams and was the coach for the 2007 SLLIC Champion Navy team, a freshman and sophomore team.  His 2007 Indoor Youth team completed an undefeated season.

He is dedicated to making the sport fun, while teaching a respect and love for the game.
